Prof. Mehmet Emin KÜÇÜK, Ph.D.
Prof. Küçük completed his undergraduate and master’s education at Hacettepe University Department of Librarianship. In 1996 he received his doctoral degree from Northumbria University Department of Information and Library Management. Between 1988 – 2010, he worked as full-time faculty at Hacettepe University, as well as serving as the Deputy Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences of Hacettepe University from 2005 to 2010. Prof. Küçük was appointed full professor in 2010 at Aksaray University, where he also served as Vice Rector between 2010-2011.
Mustafa ÜNAL, M.Sc.
Mr. ÜNAL earned his bachelor degree from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 1987. He has administrative experience at various levels at very prestigious institutions such as Türkiye İş Bankası, Koçbank (which was later merged with Yapı ve Kredi Bankası after the latter’s purchase by Koç Group), and Aria-Avea (GSM operator owned by Turkish Telecom). He holds certifications as Public Accountant Financial Advisor (2000), Advanced Capital Markets Board Certificate (2005), Finance Expert (2005). He continues his doctoral studies at Yeditepe University, Graduate School of Social Science Institute, Department of Financial Economics. Prior to the beginning of the first phase of the Program in 2013, he also worked for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for six months as Financial Consultant.
Assist. Prof. Sinan AKILLI, Ph.D.
Sinan Akıllı obtained his PhD in British Cultural Studies from Hacettepe University, Graduate School of Social Sciences in 2005. Currently he works as faculty at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Letters, Department of English Language and Literature. Dr. Akıllı’s academic interests include cultural studies, cultural theory, popular culture, popular literature, and digital cultures.
Umut Dere graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of French Language and Literature as an honor student in 2016. He has completed his internships successfully at the Embassy of Guinea in Ankara and the Consulate of Turkey in Germany. He has participated in social work for a year in Olomouc, Czech Republic as part of the European Union Voluntary Service and obtained Youthpass Certificate based on Social Projects. He is fluent in Norwegian, French, English, Czech and Greek. He works as Project Specialist in the Program.
Yüksel Pınar Başyazıcıoğlu
Yüksel Pınar Başyazıcıoğlu received her bachelor’s degree from Hacettepe University Ankara
State Conservatory, Department of Musicology. She performed as a chorist and soloist in many
orchestral concerts during her studies. She worked as a music teacher in many public and
private schools between 2009 – 2017. She is a guitarist and a pianist.

Prof. Ahmet ÇELİK, Ph.D.
Dr. Çelik received his bachelor’s degree from Middle East Technical University, Department of Sociology. After completing his master’s education in Librarianship at Sheffield University, he received his doctoral degree in the same field from Hacettepe University. In addition to working as faculty at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management, he also served as the Director of the Directorate of Library and Documentation of Hacettepe University.
Mehmet Ali DEMİREL
Mr. Demirel graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of French Language and Literature in 1979 and from the Department of Audio-Visual Communication Science and Techniques (Maîtrise des Sc.et Tec.de la Communication Audiovisuelle) at the University of Grenoble in France in 1983. His specialization is in “Communication” and “Media”. During most of his professional career he worked for various television firms. His main focus is on television projects, installations, channel management, content production and management, as well as on film, video, and photography productions. More recently, his work included corporate communication activities, social responsibility projects, media relations, new media, web TV, websites, and mobile applications.
Necip Erol OLCAY, Ph.D.
Dr. Ocay received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management. He served in administrative positions at various universities. In addition to serving on the executive boards of professional organizations, he was also on the editorial boards of the academic publications of these professional organizations. Pursuing his interest in graphics design, he self-educated himself in this area. His works have been displayed at several international art exhibitions at which he won one first place prize and two honorable mention prizes.

Assoc. Prof. Umut AL, Ph.D.
Umut AL received his master’s degree from Hacettepe University, Department of Librarianship in 2002, and his doctorate from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management in 2008. His research interests include online information search behavior, university libraries, marketing of information services, and bibliometrics. He has published widely in scholarly journals (such as Journal of the American Society for Information Science & Technology, Library & Information Science Research, Libri, Scientometrics, Turkish Librarianship) and is member of professional organizations such as Turkish Librarians’ Association and the University and Research Librarians’ Association.

Assoc. Prof. Irem SOYDAL, Ph.D.
Irem Soydal works as faculty at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management. She received master’s degrees from Hacettepe University, Department of Librarianship in 2000 and from University of Robert Gordon (Aberdeen, Scotland), Department of “Electronic Information Management” in 2003. She earned her doctoral degree from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management in 2008. Her research interests include web-based information systems, service quality, information retrieval, use of information, collection management and bibliometrcis.

Research Assistant Güleda DOĞAN, Ph.D.
Güleda Doğan earned her bachelor’s degree from Hacettepe University, Department of Statistics in 2007 and her master’s degree from the Department of Information Management of the same university in 2011. Currently employed as a research assistant at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management, she also continues her doctoral studies at the same Department. Her main research focuses on research methods, general statistics, and bibliometrics.

Research Assistant Zehra TAŞKIN, Ph.D.
Zehra Taşkın graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management in 2007, following which she worked as academic customer representative at STM–Info Information Services and Publishing Co. In 2010 she began her master’s studies at Hacettepe University where she also began working as a research assistant. In her master’s thesis she studied the standardization of university addresses in citation indexes. Currently, she continues her doctoral studies at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management. A member of professional organizations such as ÜNAK and ASIS&T, she also serves on the editorial board of the Turkish Librarianship journal since 2012.

Assoc. Prof. Gülten ALIR, Ph.D.
Gülten Alır received her master’s degree in 2002 from Hacettepe University, Department of Librarianship and her doctoral degree in 2008 from the Department of Information Management of the same institution. Her research interests include electronic document management, institutional information management, e-government applications, and the information literacy needs of disadvantaged communities. Currently, she works as faculty at the Department of Information Management of Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
Orçun MADRAN, M.Sc.
Orçun Madran received his bachelor degree in the field of Information Management in 1999, and his master’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2005. Currently, he works as lecturer at Hacettepe University, Department of Information. Madran also continues his doctoral education in the field of Educational Technologies at Ankara University. His main areas of interest include distance education, e-learning and mobile information systems.
Fatma Gonca CULA
Fatma Gonca Cula was born in Ankara in 1979. She completed her undergraduate education at Ege University, Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics in 2000. After completing the preparatory intensive-English program at Ege University Faculty of Aquaculture in 2001, she worked at various departments of Turkcell Mobile Phone Operator. Currently, she works in the Program as Training Specialist.
Duygu Önen gratuated from Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management in 2015 as an honor student. During her undergraduate education, she worked part-time at Bilkent University Library as a librarian and also as an author in a social media agency. She also actively participated in departmental activities and did voluntary work in international conferences. Currently, she works in the Program as Training Specialist.
Rahmi Akkılık graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, Department of Information Management in 2012. He worked as intern at Adnan Ötüken Province Public Library and at TUBİTAK/ULAKBIM – Cahit Arf Information Center. He also contributed to the foundation of Başkent Vocational School Library. During his undergraduate years he did voluntary work for Turkish Librarians’ Association and took part in various projects. Afterwards, he worked at Arsis Group as Ankara regional manager of Library Automation and RFID Systems. Between 2011-2014 he served on the editorial board of the Turkish Librarianship journal.

Ülkü Esra KÖROĞLU, M.Sc.
Ülkü Esra Köroğlu received her bachelor’s degree from Near East University, Department of Computer Engineering in 2008. During her master’s education between 2009-2011, she worked as software engineer at the Innovation and Information Technologies Center of Near East University. She also holds a degree from Anadolu University, Open Education Faculty, Department of Social Services. In the Program she is responsible for software development, sustainability of social media activities, and the management of the Program website.
Alparslan Mesri gratuated from Anadolu University, Department of Public Administration in 2011 and from Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Department of Industrial Engineering in 2012. He also completed a 9-month certification program in Information Technologies at Middle East Technical University. Currently he continues his master’s education at the departments of Engineering Administration and Software Engineering of Hacettepe University. During his graduate studies he studied at Munster Westfaelishe University for a year. He took part in various social projects during his education and actively served as president or executive board member at university student clubs.
Burak Atar graduated from Kocaeli University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering in 2016. During his education, he was involved in student clubs and social activities such as AIESEC, motorcycle club, and photography. He works on the Information and Communication Technologies Working Group of the Program and he is responsible for software development and software sustainability.
